I've bought a car .. how surprising..

and a bit of a bargain I suspect as well..

G reg Sierra 4x4 Ghia 2.9 Estate with the top spec Turbo Technics twin turbo kit on.

Mercury grey, 17" OZ alloys, Konis, AC, ABS, Cossie interior, Cossie front bumper and kit...

Needs MOTing because it was laid up for 6 months due to an "RS Specialist" who shall remain nameless not knowing anything about TT Sierras and making a mess of the advance / retard / boost loom. This is now fixed.

It's a bit quick.. but I'll have to wait for about a month for the logbook so I can tax it..

Cheap as chips..

Oh, apologies to Mr Meatball for not buying his Saab, but having driven it I can confirm it's a nice car and well worth the money. I'd have had it no problem if I'd not discovered the wonders of 4 wheel wheelspin..

£600 quid.

It's the F73 kit :-(, but it's been tweaked by the geezer I bought it off :-D (who's a major league engineer, ex Rolls Royce), he reckons it's an easy

280 bhp. Judging by the way it lights up all four tyres then hops even with four big blokes in, I don't doubt him. It *is* quick, and amusingly torquey.

The 7th injector, turbos, heads, cam, ECU and other bits have all been tweaked by him and a few nutters who aren't amateurs. He said it's pulled

250 hp at the wheels at 5000 ish rpm on the rollers.

I don't know what boost it's running, but the turbos are remarkably quiet, and it's more like driving a 6 litre than a 2.9.. Boost seems to come in at around 1500 rpm which is nice. He reckoned that was the hardest thing to get right.

Was converted new by TT, I suspect it's been a rally chase car at some point.

Reg is a 666 number, which is nice :-D

No problem mate.

Like I said, you would be stupid not to go for the TT if it was a goodone at that money.

If Matt don't find a buyer over the weekend, then I'll stick it in Auto trader for closer what I was asking originally, and accept offers.

Hmmm - there was an F reg hatch with a 666 number and an F73 kit on ebay a while back - you could start a collection!

it'll be good for torque as soon as the turbo's spool up (which in most cases will be anything upwards of 1200 rpm :) )

it should have a 7th AND 8th injector seup in the top of the throttle bodies, but bear in mind that you have either the original TT DCU which controls the fueling side and/or the iginition side or you will have a secondary engine manegement to sort this out the TT DCU will be good for (i think, well it was on mine) 1.5 bar worth of boost !!!!!!!!!! yikes indeed!!!!!!! plumb in a boost gauge (from one of the vac pipes from the throttle body) to see how much boost you are making (12 psi was god for 250+ bhp and over 380 lb/ft on mine)

it easy :) small turbo's spin up amazingly quickly mine were on top form from 1900 rpm with a flat torque curve all the way to about 5500rpm but it all depends on how you drive it though as to how much power the drivetrain will take before it throws in the towel and when you have the gearbox out, make sure you get at least a big turbo escort cosworth clutch kit in there

just remember that you will need shares in bp to use it like it was meant to be used :) and oil changes and an oil cooler, plus extra heat sheilding for the abs gubbins in the engine bay are a MUST (along with a vented bonnet)

You're right about the 7th and 8th injectors. Plumbed in a boost gauge before to see what it was doing, it's running 12 psi... must be where they're happiest although geezer reckons it'll happily do 18 psi but its a bit of a handful and it's not as nice to drive "Best left for t'race track.."

I've got the vented bonnet for it, but need to get it painted.. got an electric sunroof motor for it as well..

Where's the best place to get a receiver / drier for the AC?

18psi will kill it it won't have enough fueling, pure and simple and will lean out at the top end and go kaput

if it's a 90 spec car (clear indicators and glove box on both sides) it'll fit, eventually if not, a little modding will be needed as the neccesary holes aren't in the roof panel

it's about £70 from any AC place you may need the switch that goes with it as well though, and the front rad is alos a common failure, not compatable with the granada one, but it's a spacer and longer bolts job to fit :)

having seen the pics, it's a 89 model, so you will need to "fettle" the roof panel find a 92 spec ghia and rob the roof mechanism off of it (but you will also need the roof as well as the splines are finer)
