Insurance...

I bleieve they pull a quote out of the air...

take my saxo...

was a "westcoast when i brought it. last year she cost me 600 FC to insure. this year, through adrian flux with the engine coversion and all mods declared (rougly double the power it was) come in a 350 FC :o)

some kind of random number generator maybe.

yes we swapped all the running gear too.

suspension, brakes, gearbox, clutch it has a full exhaust system on so the slightly smaller bore on the westcoast is gone. cant think of much else TBH

brakes are Goat developments with greenstuff pads. (283mm disks i think) theres not much "westcoast" there TBH, especially where it counts.

Some companies are better at some types of car/driver.

Insurance quotes for me in my carlton ranged from around £600 to £1800 - thats a factor of 3!

What gets me is when they say things like "you might as well buy this one today, you won't find cheaper than us cos of your age... sir, why are you laughing..." and such like.

I get my age chucked at me a lot...usually by the companies with the highest quote so far who advertise as "specialising in youger drivers"

Diamond (the birds only one) was the most expensive by far for my Mrs. they must rely soley on the callers who dont bother with anyone else.

Just got a few quotes for the Zafira

Cheapest was esure at £350 so went with them. The most expensive was Churchill at £669. Almost double! And then a range in between...

Do they just make the figure up when you do the quote or something?

So it's a westcoast with a VTS engine then? Suppose it's quicker to say VTS - is it completely like a VTS now (suspension/brakes etc all upgraded?).

Insurance on my Estelle went from =A3350 as a learner to =A31800

On the Saab =A3479 which I accepted, to =A31700.

Quite a difference =A31300 considering the cover levels were very similar.

Just got the renewal in for the totaaly slushtastic diesel passat - a year old and it would cost 19 grand to replace if I completely stacked it.

325 quid. And that allows business use.

Not too terrible really :-)

Diamond was actually the cheapest for my gf who's 23 and has been driving for a couple of years but not on her own insurance. I must have got the quote at the cheap airspace the plucked the figure from :)

Unless you are skinhead closset lesbian, Diamond won't let you enter that airspace, any more than you GF will when she has a mood with you.
