It's a bit nippy out there

to be spannering on cars.

Fortunately, I have the wiper motor swap down to a fine art. 45 minutes from start to finish. Not my best time, but I managed to get them wiping the wrong way initially.

New motor is stickered up 'Nippon Denso' - I hope it's better than the Bosch it replaces.

Finally found one with the waterproof rubber cover, too - I reckon that may help.

My very light spannering session is now over too. New battery - does that count as a a mod ?

Yeah, as long as it's not *exactly* the same as the original one. As the weather's s**te.

Exactly the same ?

The terminals are totally in the wrong position, so the wires are stretched all ways to get it connected and obviously the clamp doesn't fit any more, so it's really just perched in vaguely the right position.

Is this good ?...

It would probably get you a Max Power cover shoot.

I'd give it a "UKRCM Grade 1" certificate.

If you didn't have a garage you'd not be spannering outside here today. The snow fell yesterday and in the night, maybe 3 or 4 inches, then froze. It's now all packed down on the road (we're not exactly on what you'd call a main road...), and we don't get gritters or anything so it's just very slippy apparently, and didn't get to more than 3 or 4c all day here. Although when mum, bro and his mrs were out walking round the village with Abby this morning they saw a snow plow go past, plowing the main street - never known that in the village before. Allegedly the weather in York was lovely 45-50 miles away!

Only if the wires have a blue braided cover on them, with some sort of electroluminescent highlights.

If they are badly enough attached they might light up a bit with movement.
