On a Jap speedo, none of them show MPH, unless the car has had the necessary speedo conversion for SVA, then all of them do.
haha i aint that dumb
although toyota recomend a cruising speed of 130mph to keep the turbo from cooking. it's in my translated manual, 'we recomend a cruising speed of
130mph were permited (blah blah)'
yup which is how the limiter is removed, makes the limit cut in at 180mph instead of 180kmph which it can't do, well the body could but the engine can't :)
it can be done carl :) and i've had 125mph on the speedo with some revs left, still pulls like a train even at that speed! i was trying to catch a supra :-P
although i don't recomend it, steering feels REALLY light and the car feels like it could lose it easily
Well I've the Micra and the P6...

You win.
That P6 0-60 is only measurable with a sundial innit?
LOL did they have sundial's when the P6 was around? :)
4 Wheels, big engine, steering wheel, brakes, no roof, no stereo, no heater, no un-necessary weight = proper car :-)

Most of 'em aren't fitted with such new fangled gadgetry.
FFS Pete - that'll make THREE
Not true - 740i not a whole lot worse than a 735i, in fact if it's the newer engine (the 4.4) then it'll be better.
Looking at a few Google links definetely suggests that some of the turbo models WERE limited to 130mph.
Once again, third time lucky, with capitals for emphasis.
NO IT WILL NOT.
You may well see 160 on the speedo gauge, but please don't tell me you're stupid enough to believe that's the actual speed the car is travelling at (to get to an actual 160mph you'd need to be registering around 180mph on the speedo).
See what ? That site says exactly the same thing;
"Top speed About 150 MPH"
It also says;
"A genuine 155 MPH is quite possible in uncontrolled conditions (wind, gradient, etc)."
That means going downhill with a following wind. It may come as s surprise but many cars can go faster using this method, that doesn't make it your cars top speed !
Speedo reading is irrelevant, 160mph registered on the dials would be about 140 to 145mph.
Thats not blanket true for all cars tho, some speedo's are more accurate than others.
?!?
I did? News to me! But I guess a Nova round a wet track would be, er, amusing anyway...
You didn't actually see Al's post right before yours did you, giving semi scientific guestimations.
Yeah.

No; traded it in for minimum grief...
I got 3k as a trade in, reckon I'd have advertised at 5k, snapped up
4k+, taken 3k+ after a week or so...22-23mpg, would be worse if I drove much in town. A

Cool. Although I suspect that is a recommended _maximum_ cruising speed...
