Haven't bought one in a few months, so decided to get something new today for 'er indoors.
Seemed a good time to buy a convertible with the lovely weather we're having, so got me a 205 CJ!

Bit of work and you could dieselify it.
Practical and economical!
Is there room for a fridge?
I could quite easily as I already have all the bits. But it aint gonna happen!!
Errrrm, probably
A better choice for a diesel conversion must, surely, be the mark one Toyota MR2?
Are there any dieselfied 4AGE engines though?! I've actually thought about the 205 CTD conversion for quite a while i.e. find a CTi with a blown engine (basically a 1.6GTi soft top) and then get a cheap intercooled 1.7TD from a BX/405 and voila. But Nats daily mileage will be reducing in January so it's not as important to have a diesel any more. Of course, when I had my
205 XS (same engine as the CJ) I could average under 20mpg, so lets hope it's a bit better than that!!
Bloody hell, sub 20mpg from a 1.4. How did you manage that?
Against the clock, under cover of darkness and with judicious use of heavy right foot.
Lucky it wasn't a 2.0 Alfa 75 - they're too fast you see.
The irony been, down the lanes Carl did said rallies down, the 205 XS would own the Alfa to be fair heh.
Shh! I am fishing.
Something like that!
I don't think I could handle the power of one of them beasts.
Turns out I may not be getting the said CJ. The seller is being an arse and whinging he forgot to put a reserve on the auction and couldn't pull it when he realised. Blah, blah, blah, like I care, I just want my damn car!!
you mean it's a shame it wasn't an alfa because he could of done the rally and got home on the same tank of gas! now there something to shout about down your local without looking a total c*ck jockey!
Far too fast.
I did put the Ka down to 25 mpg, but this involved short runs and a temperature that didn't creep up above freezing point.
Aha: the kind of fishing that involves throwing grenades in a pond?
That kind I like!

And depending on cornering precision, a few curves added to the bodywork.
Same here. When someone asks what you caught you just say "Everything!!!" It's a bugger when you go back the next time though.
Fraser
Well ... no.
You just have to go back (fly back that is) in a B-29 and put his bombload in the pond.
You should get fish, not the least because the pond should be big enough to drop the candy in from high.
Damn: I just realise I have missed my calling! I should be a fisherman!
Cheers :)
