No, but a gang of us should go. It'd be a giggle. I reckon the Puma's fast enough to be a laugh round there.

You probably will, but at least you'll German insurance so you'll be covered during TFs. As opposed to most Brits...

Isn't there some optional 'Ring insurance you can buy on the day now? IIRC my mate in his Elise paid about £60 or something like that.

The only one I'm aware of that was discussed over at pissed on heads was a 99 quid policy that helps cover the cost of damaged armco.
Consensus over there is that no UK insurer is willing to cover 3rd party risk; they might have to pay out due to its classification as a public road during TFs but they'll very likely to recover the money from you. In most cases that'll be your house, all your valuables and possible bankruptcy.
No. I take it its finished?
It'll be finished in 3-5 weeks, all going well.
It's a public one way toll road with no speed limit, so unless specifically excluded by your policy, or you are breaching the "racing / competition" rules on the policy, then going for a nice gentle sunday drive around the ring cannot be reason for invalidating the policy any more than going for a nice gentle sunday drive around the coventry inner ring road (and is probably safer).
Good news. Get a few weeks at the end of the show/event season in then. Hope you're going to garage it over winter. They have a nasty habit of going downhill quick if you don't, no matter how good the restoration.
I'm not going to rehash the stuff they mentioned over on PH, you might want to have a look at the threads on PH with the links to stuff written by law firms who actually understand the situation.
Of course I assume that you can back up your assertion with references to case law and all that?
You need to buy a new car in eighteen months
I'm sure my last few insurance policies have had a 'no Nurburgring' clause.
You won't be going fast enough to die unless someone hits you from behind.

What he said.
Freshly restored MKII Escort, shinig like a new pin, bimbling up the straight with all 68bhp stretching their legs.
500bhp Skyline / EVO / 911 / Ferrari / Lambo comes up behind and the track's a bit congested.Things get a bit confused.
Escort gets wrecked.
Sorry mate, but I wouldn't. It's like digging a trench with a pair of chopsticks - wrong tool for the job. Call in and park it up for everyone to admire in the car park though.
I've had friends do 'the ring' in the past with slowish cars and they've had a great time. However one of them was in an MX5 and had a slight coming together with a Porsche 911 and after an arguement about insurance policies they agreed to just walk away and pay for their own damages. Just gotta decide whether you wanna run the risk of that happening - personally I'd just go for it as IMHO cars are designed to be driven. I'm building the Vitesse ready to be taken on some track days, and possibly the Ring but I guess that's probably not worth as much as a nice mk2 Escort. Although maybe I'll feel different about it when it's finished.
A friend of mine edits a car magazine and her predecessor and wrote off a car on a test drive round the Ring. The track was shut because he dropped a load of oil and he was billed not only for the armco, but also for compensation for having the track closed. Was an expensive day for him, not to mention the £50k car he destroyed. If some sort of insurance against this exists I think I'd definitely pay for it!!
To be honest, I think Bob hit the nail on the head. I'll probably give it a miss. It'd be a shame to wreck what's undoubtedly a rare old Escort just on a jolly - and it wouldn't be quick anyway.
I might take it for a thrap around one of the circuits in Czech before I bring it back though.
Sounds more like it..
If you're ever north of the border, give me a shout, I have the keys for a lovely little hillclimb track where you're only racing yourself :-)
Cue long queue of ukrcm'ers...
Would they allow low blow turbocharged front wheel drives, hybrids, and proper throaty V6s?
