Looks quite tidy tbh - didn't think speedos in KMH were legal though?

But it's a decent autobox, same one as in my 535i and the sports mode actually does something. But it will eat fuel, yes.

At this time of year? Doubt it.

snippage from forum...

MY raider will be for sale any time now. It just having a top-end rebuild completed all I need are the head bolt tension settings and it's done.

Car is a 1990 G plate raider with complete original bodywork and interior.

It has 15" legue tantrums lowered all round on Koni adjustables.

Full stainless steel exahuast system, dump valve, uprated CAM group A racing clutch.

Only ever used as a second car, no rust

It's just had (this week)...

All gaskets (head, exhaust, manifold etc ) gaskets replaced as well as the head pressure testing and skimmed. Head tested upto 40 PSI (lol) and the head is ported and polished.

It also had new plugs, leads, oil and air filters (not even been driven with them on as the rebuild isnt finished yet.

Should be finished in the next 7 days. MOT till march currently untaxed.

Looking for offers in the region on £1200 but will examine sensible offers.

I'm based in the yorkshire area near sheffield and am best contacted on

snipped-for-privacy@sarahnmason.co.uk

New project/woman who dislikes it forces sale.

Comes with plenty of history and receipts has a few spares with it too (perc fan and housing/hoses etc.) will be seen running/driving.

This car is only, and has only ever while i've owned it run standard boost.

Someone will buy it at that. i've seen R5's e-bay at 3.5k.

You're probably right but I read the ad as meaning it only showed KPH on the actual speedo and MPH only on the trip comp?

Fair 'nuff. The 535i is the first auto I've ever had and I'm absolutely sold on it but then most of my driving is in heavy city traffic (and I've got a buggered up left knee so its a godsend really!)

Meanwhile, back on planet earth, a 525 is impossible to sell without auto.

I wouldnt agree TBH. Each to their own. i'm considering it but much prefer manuals.

Slushomatic is essential in a large engined German executive car. Don't even consider getting a manual as that _will_ be hard to sell on later.

Even without personal preference I'd have to agree - remember this is the same bracket of car as a Merc E-class, auto is pretty much standard on those IIRC

That should be the 24 valve twin cam with the first appearance of the ZF 5 speeder. Actually more economical on a motorway than the manual due to a very tall top gear and TC lock-up clutch. I used to see 37 mpg regularly on a long run. Went very well when you got it revving, but pretty lethargic off cam. Obviously heavier on petrol in town than the manual.

Think if you've got an E34 535, it's only a four speed?

Most BM's are sluggish off CAM. Our E30 doesnt really start to shift until

Yup, I thought a 525 of this vintage was the same box. I sit corrected. :o)

Erm... *hello*!

It's a R5 GT Turbo, and one that looked very tidy in the pics Mason shared with us all.

Well worth £1200, if not more, if in good mechanical order.

Is it a genuine Raider???

If so, £1200 is well low for one of those, if in good nick and roadworthy.

Reply to

It's a genuine raider, complete raider interior and exterior (bar wheels) and will be roadworthy as soon as the above mentioned rebuild is done (any day now)

It's nice to see not everyone regards any car but there own as worthless.
