OT: But been a while since I bought a new PC

Is that a fair price? I already have a PSU that will do the job, and would need a decent graphics card to back it up.

Any better deals for quad core CPUs arround?

I want something that is going to last for a little while I can use SATA converters/PCI card for my existing IDE drives.

Cheapest Quad core on Scan is that Q6600 at £170.01 (£6 extra will get you the low power cooler running chip) P5N-E SLi is £71.44 (if you don't want to go SLi there is a cheaper option)

4Gb Corsair QuadX £155.85 (4x1Gb)

So that's £397.30

2Gb of Corsair TwinX is £58.62 (2x1Gb) currently (out of stock)

so 4Gb = 117.24

Total £359.14

IIRC you can get free delivery if you make a minimum number of posts to the Hexus forums.

A little dearer still, but at least a vendor I know, and branded kit=20 that I will recognise. Cheers. Time to do some snooping on the various forums I used to frequent when I=20 was PC Modding.
