It does, in a perverse way. I shouldn't look though lol, I'm on a diet.

Good news is, I've lost a stone. Maybe I could have one to celebrate ;)

4 pounds to go and I will have lost a stone. But they all look so good.

Don't want to turn this place into some sort of blokey dieting support group.

However !

Well done to both of you. I've been a bat fastard all of my days and was never lean or fit.

At my heaviest, I was a collossal nineteen and a half stone. Mostly, I was 17 1/2 or therabouts.

Until last July, when something in my head just clicked. Changed the way I ate, tried to think about what I was doing and really just stuck with it. No exercise to start with other than walking a bit further and a bit faster. Now I'm cycling at least every other day if not every day.

Currently sitting at 12 1/2 stone. I reckon that's not bad for a 6 ft 2 old bloke (yes, I'm 43, like you all hadn't guessed.)

Anyway, stick with it. It will be the most liberating and energising thing you ever do in your life.

:-)

Cheers. I had a reason though. Got given a Red Letter Day porsche experience for my 40th. I was booking it and read the restrictions. One was a 17st weight limit. No bother I thought. Except after booking I was 17stone 2 dressed, and 16stone 13 nekkid. And I don't suppose they will let anyone else in a 911 after I've been excited in it Nekkid. So, fat loss it is then.

The missus found a copy of the Slimming world Red/Green plan book in pdf and we have been working to that. Red days you can eat meat/protein without penalty, green days you can eat carbs without penalty, both days veggies are free except starchy ones. Means you can have a full grilled english breaky if you forgoe toast/hashbrowns on a red day, and eat Pasta with a decent home made roasted veggie sauce on a green day, still eat decent portion sizes and still lose weight.

Apparently there is something genuinely scientific about the way the body digest carbs and proteins differently and if you mix them, the last to be digested becomes fat easier.

I've found what might be a decent doner kebab substitute, mixed myself with lean Turkey mince, onion and garlic powder and a little chili powder (then I know what is in it), and instead of grilled on the spit, slow cooked for hours and hours in a slow cooker, then thinly sliced. And you can freeze what you don't need now, and defrost and warm when you get that craving.

I've lost about 4 pounds in the last few weeks as I need to slim down my belly to get into my wedding suit. Trying to cut down carbs in the evening and do plenty of exercise - either a nice long walk or some time on the Wii fit and it seems to be working so far. If I can get down to 11.5 stone with an inch off my belly I'll be happy, so thats about 8lb to go I think.

Stag do this weekend though, which could hinder my progress.....

I did the slimming world thing a few years ago, lost 4 stone in six months. It's ace, and you can eat like a pig still :-)

Sadly there's only one way to lose weight, fewer calories through the mouth than come out of the arse, lungs, kidneys and sweat. That said eat good food, the best, but less of it.

Exercise can be key. Not because it makes that much difference of itself, but because it seriously restricts the pie to piehole ratio.

You might consider having a word with Marcus Houlden. He was about your weight not long ago, nowaday's he's kicking the arses of scrawny guys mostly because of his exercise and sensible eating regime. One good thing is that you have a target, that helps a lot.

Ho yus. And if you get the PDFs instead of joining and paying the fees for the meetings and books, you save pounds as well as losing them.

Jeebus. I'm 6'4 and about 12 and a half stone which is what I've been fairly consistently for the last 10 years or so.

I am quite skinny. You must look like a racing rake.

You must be, if you are 10.5 stone you're too thin and into health damaging territory for 6' 2". You should be about half a stone to a stone heavier.

My problem is time, I'm usually out of the house for work at between 7AM and 7.30, and not out of the office until between 5.45 and 6.30.

Not back home until at the earliest 6.30pm on a normal day. By the time I've eaten, relaxed for a while, it is 9pm, and time to start thinking about bed by 10-10.30pm to start the cycle again.

I have started a beginners archery course, not exactly a high energy type of excersise, but very good for upper body muscle and posture which will help with how the bit of extra weight I'm carrying look better until it is gone.

Yer baws.

If you're 6'4" then I'm 5'2".

Which I'm not.

You're at least eleven feet thirteen.

Decent exercise though (IMO). It doesn't need to be strenuous or particularly long. I used to take a walk for half an hour instead of lunch, usually along the Grand Union Canal towpath. At least this gave me plenty of cyclists to hate.

My brother's about 6'0 and ten stone wet through. He eats like a horse but never, ever puts any weight on. He's even gone down the training supplements and heavy weights route. Puts on about nothing, just gets more wiry. He hates it..

I have the same problem.

Nice one, hope you get into it. I've just signed up Karate again after many, many years of not doing much at all. First class on Thursday evening. I know I am going to feel really s**te on Friday, but it'll be worth it in the end. Haven't had a ciggy since my birthday on the 30th May either. Not saying I don't want one, but I haven't had one yet..
