OT:More TurboCider fun.

Bottled the second batch of TurboCider today. As per good practice, before bottling I took a small taster to one side. Bloody good, not too sharp, tasty. Only had about 1/4pint finished it and got an instant sweat on afterwards.

The one is Lidl juice with 150g of brown sugar. Didn't get quite so much out of the 4.5 litres as I racked it into a second Demijon to clear for a few days, so lost a little extra with each syphoning. Got the 4 litres plus the settlings, plus the 1/4pint taster. This is another batch that is now carbonating.

currently fermenting is a spiced one that I want to save for xmas after tasting if I can. This will be rocket fuel as it has 350g sugar added to the gallon.

It is spiced with cinnamon, clove, star anise, and dried chilli. She be both spicy and mentally alcoholic.

My craziest attempt so far is Lidl Freeway Iron Brew, boiled to kill off any additives and gas, cooled and added to a demijon with 150g brown sugar. Sugar is the second ingredient after water, and it took nearly 2 weeks to ferment and clear so it should have a kick. A sampler had a taste/dryness similar to a medium dry wine, but with a strong nose, and medium after taste of the base Iron Brew. That was still, it is now carbonating nicely and looks pretty clear.

I plan to. It is my nephews 8th birthday in the next few weeks, so I think I will take a 2ltr of the first turbo cider and a pint of the CastIronBrew for the grownups to sample at the BBQ my brother always has.
