Oooh, and I had two Dyane 6s, both identical colours, at the same time.

And 4 Chevettes.

Had 2 Golf GTis. Only 1 Ka, Mondeo, and 340. None of them entertaining / solid enough to justify getting another, and I wasn't even bothered about the death of the Mondeo.

->I was thinking today how of all the cars I've owned I've generally had 2.

->Is it just me or has everyone else here experienced this.

I have no idea how many Suzuki SJ's or Land Rovers I've had.

All the others have been one off's, with the exception of two Cavalier SRi's (When they were new company cars)

These any good? I was told the 2.2 90 Quatro is a nice car.

Always wanted a CX Turbo.

Bastard!

Now you're taking the piss!

GTi or otherwise?

Like these as well, as unreliable as they say??

Like these..

and these..

Pah, should have got the 24v.

Heh, I remember these. Was the tailgate shagged?

FFS!

Absolutely-bloody-fantastic, and I was young when I had it. Newcastle to Kelso in 54 minutes IIRC, on the A69whatsit through Ponteland, than A68. I can't remember if it was a 2.2 or 2.3 though.

Being the earlier shape, it had electronically selectable centre and rear difflocks, so was really, really unstopptable in most conditions.

I like CXs ;) The Turbo 1 was pretty good, the Turbo 2 was a bit broken

- light front accident - but I did drive it a couple of times.

Nothing is like racing down a single-track lane, high hedges on either side, in a HUGE barge of a car at 100mph effortlessly.

GTi - the non-GTi is the Estate car (I also had the use of a Peugeot 405 GLx4).

Dunno, this one was total shit. Rear end accident had been 'fixed' by chopping the boot-backwards from an Audi 100 and welding it on, but the the subframe alignment was a mess; it crabbed down the road. Engine was alright though ;)

I knew it was the wrong back end from day 1, but I was pissed that they hadn't got it straight - it had flat arches, not round ones.

I think you'd have to be utterly devoid of soul to do so.

Hey, it was practically free. Plus, I don't care for the 24v's reliability record ;)

No, but the rest of the car was. Still got me from Watford to Kelso though!

Which died, after I sold the car below...

...and the buyer, when offered the GTi, merely took the damn crank sensor and left the rest of the car. The headlights have just made their way to Japan, the the tail-lights to Greece, and the dashboard - inexplicably - to France.

My gf is busy trying to distract me with interesting cars on eBay - including a bloody FE Ventora sitting at £500. I'm not as tempted as she hopes, though; it is amazing how the prospect of a good, well-regarded, RWD sportscar with NO RUST, no problems, no issues means you don't care about not having a Ventora...

That, and the fact that the Sera is easy to sort and very unusual.

But, no takers on bets that I'll make it to Christmas without buying more cars (or changing cars). I'm disappointed.
