I can't be the only one who mentally inserted an "N" and a "B" into the subject line.

Can I?

For the past few days I've noticed a dark green Phaeton W12 around West London. It has the purple "Prebooked only" sticker on the back window. I really hope that is someone dodging the Kengestion charge rather than a sign that Phaetons are now the taxi driver's tool of choice.

Only if you want the least desirable spec and they forgot to reveal the mileage.

Point taken though.

If you wouldn't mind posting again when I can have a V10 for 8 grand, I'm in. :-)

553lbs of torque, mmmmmm....

Cue PeteM, Burgerman and Steve Firth with, "ahh but it's still a diseasel" ;-)

£20k for the cheapest V10 5.0 TDi, £17k for the cheapest W12 6.0. Plenty of 3.2 V6 petrol and 3.0 TDis for sub all that - although those engines kinda defeat the point of them for me.

And me! I'm sure the V10 TDI would be great, but it won't be that economical, and the W12 would be so many magnitudes better. I remember seeing it at the motor show when it was a newfangled engine, and in the display cabinet it had, amongst other things, the torque curve - virtually flat (at pretty much peak torque) from a fraction above idle to not too far off redline.

I'd rather the W17 or whatever it is myself, but even when it's eventually a banger it won't make any sense to me.

I'm getting old.

I've never heard/seen one, but that sounds like fun. As a complete VAG TDI fanboi, that has to be a good thing to have.
