I wonder how you would feel if your bought from new (year 2000), dealer maintained XKR with 80.000 km on the clock needs a new gearbox after 7 years?

Cost? 15.800 UKP, no warranty or factory involvement concerning the old gearbox...

The owner was a little bit livid about Jaguar... went to his former Honda-dealer and signed for the new Legend, full ops. I have seen for how much the XKR (year 2000, 80.000 km) is taken in: major blow to the respect for Jaguar.

For those interested: I received a letter for Honda Motor Europe. As my

15 year old Honda is dealer maintained since new (has 178.000 km now) I receive for free a year "Honda Assistance Plus". Never heard about something similar at Jag...

Audi are renowed for having one of the best interiors in the world, it's your choice what you choose at the end of the day.

I can keep giving you link if you want, but I know it wont shut you up

A total of 81 automotive journalists from around the country picked the new Audi A4 and A6 as having the best interiors for popularly priced and premium cars, respectively, while the Honda Odyssey minivan and Ford's Land Rover LR3 SUV were rated best in popularly priced and premium truck categories.

Unlike you, I've driven both.

That's an M5 not an M3, and the Audi is a typical Audi, boring and with suspension that will loosen your teeth. I want a car to drive, not one that will give my dentist more work.

Note that the voice over mentions that the S-type R is as good as the M5, which means better than the M3 BTW. Sound of you shooting your own foot.

Jags are for old fat cigar smoking men who think they are better than everyone else.....probably describes Steve Firth there! Jags are nothing more than posh Fords, simple as that.

Bwhahahahahahahaha.

Oh look, lifted from an American webshite.

Have you seen an American car interior? I own one. It's an amusing standard of finish and sets any American comment in context.

Of course they are troll boy.

So which is faster, a Pagani Zonda or a Jaguar?

Hardly something to shout about, given that both the BMW and Merc are pretty s**te.

No-one is saying the XJ220 isn't fast, maybe it's that car that broke the back of jag in the first place?

Waving Fast penis's around the place isn't going to show that a Jag built in

1992 as a one off makes it a great drivers car, the cigar smoking fat cat business-man image will always be with it.

lol...coming from a guy who likes/drives Alfa's! I like your style.

Also, if there was a corner in the mix, I'm sure the Zonda would be the victor anyway. Assuming the XJ made it all the way round the track...

lol. I should have known you would own one! You own everything, you have driven everything, you have driven everywhere. When the f*ck are you going to stop talking s**te. Know one believes a word you say. Ever heard the story of "Cry Wolf"?

Eh? Steve drives a Ford Exploder, and has done for as long as I can remember him posting - something over 200,000 miles now, I think. He has what are probably some slightly fanciful views on the performance and handling, at least if it's anything like the one I had as a hire car in the states, but he is definitely in a position to comment on the interior quality of at least one american car. My own experience is limited to half a dozen hire cars, so may be biased towards a particular end of the market, but american cars do indeed appear to be utterly s**te in almost every aspect, not least interior quality.

When are you going to sod off? Unlike you (a) I'm not poor and (b) I'm not suffering from the effects of an unfinished education and (c) I drive across Europe several times a year.

The fact that I own a Yank car is well known here and elsewhere. There are even people who post here that have either (a) had a lift in it or (b) know someone who knows me.

Whereas you are nothing more than an empty headed donkey who thinks that if someone has more of a life than you and your pikey mates that they must be telling lies.

It's a good job I didn't tell you about my yacht or the farm I own, eh?

Oh indeed it's what you do every time you pretend to know something about me when you've never even met me.

They have another reputation as well:

What Car? Reliability Survey

Audi ? League position: 28th (out of 30) ? Claims per 100 vehicles: 41.2 ? Average age (years): 4.4 ? Average mileage: 51,707 ? Average repair cost: £395 ? Average time for repair (hours): 2.8

This is an extremely disappointing showing from Audi, because it prides itself on the quality of its cars.

It is also a downhill slide from last year, when Audi scraped two stars overall. This year, there are, on average, more claims per 100 cars, rising from 39.4 in 2004's survey to 41.2.

It is also taking longer for the problems to be fixed, with the average repair time going up from two-and-a-half hours to nearly three. Nearly half of all the problems reported relate to the axles and suspension, although Audi's braking systems seem to give owners little cause for concern.

Now getting on for 240,000.

They aren't track cars, but they still go extremely well. The 0-60 in

9.6s woudl have had them classed as sports cars at one time. Now it's just average, and they still handle better than most big SUVs.

Indeed, the interiors can in fact be very ling lived, but they never look good and there's a dedication to using the cheapest materials ever. No wonder an Audi looks good to the septics. They don't know any better.
