If you fit 50bhp jets you will get 50bhp increase, if you fit 100bhp jets you will get 100bhp increase, if you fit 200bhp jets you will get a 200bhp increase in performance, get the idea?

The NOS Wizard is in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, (he's the one that Top Gear used and a few other car programs.

Thanks apart from I read that you can actually get more power than the input value. i.e. 25jet giving 70BHP.

Have you had this done? It is worth it? Do you feel any difference?

Well I helped install my mates, and his car really pissed of the GTi/VTS boys after installing it and it was a basic escort.

£500(ish) for 250bhp? Of course its bloody worth it!! More bhp/pound than any other mod.

Erm, no it isn't. Depends on application, you're particularly more likely to get a greater than stated level of performance on turbocharged cars. 70bhp would be a bit of an exaggeration tho :)

Its been known to give 50 tho, with a big oversize free lowing turbo, on bikes mainly. A T4 on a 1 litre is a bit big, not really enough exhaust to drive it but on Nitrous.... G O N E ........

Has anyone actually done it?

On an Mx6 or Probe (Basically a Ford 2.5 V6)?

Dino, it doesn't make any difference what the car is it will make it bloody quick, ring a specialist and make sure you do it right and use it wisely.

Agreed. It's not car-specific - if you want it, then buy it ! Just be sure to use a specialist Nitrous company to do the work.

Because they know what they're doing, and you won't just get some cowboy who blows up your car !

That applies to ANY tuned car - not just Nitrous tuning ! In fact, the Nitrous is probably better for reliability, as it's not on all the time.

The actual engine itself should be fine. As you say above, it's the transmission that takes a pounding - as long as you use it sensibly though, all should be well. Unless he keeps the car for an extended period, it'll be well out of his ownership before any problems begin to show ;)

Its amazing how many misconceptions people have about nitrous - its only used for a very short time compared to other engine modifications which wear the engine all the time, therefore the damage is non-existant or insignificant provided the engine is well looked after in the first place and the transmission can take the extra strain (which most can)

Turbos and superchargers will do more damage to a stock engine than nitrous ever will
