Rover L-series tuning

Hi,

I've had a 1999 Rover 220SDi for around 6 months now, and thought I'd investigate options for tuning it. It's got the 105bhp version of the L-series TDI unit (with the intercooler and the electronic Bosch VP37 fuel pump). Lots of chip/tuning box manufacturers claim upwards of

130bhp from fitting their product. The question I have is, has anyone had any experience of fitting any of these devices and what differences did they make? Also, are there any in particular that I should avoid?

Thanks

Andy

From the various reports I've read and discussions I've seen, I'd recommend that you get any tuning products from a spcialised diesel-tuning company, such as Van Aaken or Allard turbo. Both offer either chip-tuning or plug- in modules according to your preference. The 220Di is a pretty good starting point - it's direct injection and has an intercooler.

Good luck

Andy
