Slighty OT: Car hire

Anybody know a company that hires out Smart cars down south? The only one I've found so far is Europcar who dont do them at their Southampton, Portsmouth or Bournemouth deopts.

LOL don't, IMHO they are horrid. Could have been so much more fun if it wasnt for that weird assed robotised sequential gearbox. Urgh. Only drove one for about 10 minutes, and I'd take one over a motorbike when its raining.

Dont easy rentacar do smarts in some city centre places? You might have to travel a bit to get one.

Drove 600 miles in two days in one, seemed fine to me if you're not in a hurry - flat our gearchanes are awful!

Kinda defeats the point of hiring a car really :-)

According to the AA adverts, just break down and you'll be given one.

IIRC your penchant for pugs and renault derived volvos shoud come in handy for this

Easycar, as in Stavros's Easyjet.

Well i've never broken down in any of my cars, except for a clutch cable snapping whic could have happened in anything. If i owned a Lancia, i'm sure that would be a completely different matter ;)

PS its a Volvo derived Volvo now! Keep up man!!!

Found a place just up the road who specialise in new Minis and Smarts. Expensive but its the only place i can find since the Smart dealership werent interested in giving me one for a day. However i'm tempted to hire a Cooper S for a day or 2 :)
