Spam-ta Christmas brings you 2 bargain vans..... (#2)

If any of the regulars are interested, give me a shout - I'm selling my 2 vans (one old one, one in current use), both in very good order, for sensible money, due to finding a much bigger van (which I now require) at a very attractive price.

I'll keep it as short as possible, so here goes:

Van no 2:

Peugeot Boxer 330 MWB Low-Roof (3.3 Tonne Gross Vehicle Weight)

53-reg, first registered end of October 2003 2.2 HDi (around 105bhp), 5-speed manual gearbox - averaged around 28mpg for multi-drop work, but gets between 35 and 40mpg on a gentle run. Fully ply-lined, including wheel arches. Remote central locking (fully working) and alarmed. Taxed until end of October 2006, no MOT yet required. 106k on the clock, full service history (bar one service that there doesn't appear to be a record for, but given the regularity of the other services, I would assume it was done at a dealer other than the one who did the rest of the servicing) Drives well - engine runs spot on (starts first time every time) and gives good performance and reasonable economy, gearbox changes absolutely fine. Clutch has quite a high biting point, and requires care to drive, but I am certain that it is *not* worn out - clutch was replaced about 20,000 miles ago only 7 months ago by a Peugeot main dealer at a cost of £800, and I'm certain that this is an issue with the self-adjustment mechanism. With the clutch fully engaged, putting your foot to the floor in top gear does not result in any slipping, which I tested before buying it, so I don't consider this a major issue (have not got around to booking in at the Peugeot dealer to get sorted, but the technician there test-drove it and confirmed that it didn't feel right). Exhaust/brakes all in good working order. Radio/CD player, all working fine. Steel bulkhead with small window. Recent front wheel bearing, recent near-side front top strut mount replaced (a common issue on these, even though Peugeot deny it - causes the steering to wander due to badly manufactured strut mounts that crack). Paintwork/bodywork overall in excellent condition, bar two small areas - there is a very slight dent in the sill just below the side sliding door, and slight impact damage on the n/s/f wing. Neither have caused any flaking of the paintwork, so I can only assume that they hit something relatively soft - no rust in either place due to the paintwork not being affected. Tyres good all round, with plenty of tread left. Last serviced at 96,000 miles, so due another service soon. Cambelt was replaced at around 40,000 miles, and althought the official interval is 96,000 miles, making it not due for another 30,000 miles, I would personally recommend getting a new cambelt, water pump and tensioners fitted (£140 for the genuine OEM parts, and no more than 2 hours' labour, at a guess) within the next 5000 miles or so.

The van drives very well, and there are no mechanical issues or nasty surprises that I haven't mentioned.. The engine is the renowned 2.2HDi, which is thought of as the pick of the bunch (not as underpowered as the

2.0HDi, and more economical than the 2.8HDi) and it has plenty of power to cope with reasonable loads, and is pretty quick when it's needed to be! It has never done heavy work - only having done long motorway runs for a bathroom supplies company, and used by myself for local deliveries. Be aware of the issues I've mentioned (clutch adjustment, and the top strut mounts) when looking at other Peugeot Boxer / Citroen Relay vans - I try not to hide anything in something I'm selling, to avoid wasting people's time. Only selling due to needing to upgrade to a larger van or I'd have happily kept this for a fair while.

Asking £4800, but again, open to sensible offers (bear in mind it's got nearly a year's tax) - no VAT to pay on top.
