Tempting

Seems a bit dodgy to have 2 g60 steel gaskets in place though...

And what does it mean by "old k-star system or emerald", I know that emerald are a fairly good aftermarket management producer, and k-star do similar ecu's to superchip.

But what would be classified as "old"? I've sent him a similar question.

And before you say it, I know I don't have a 16v...yet.

You don't know Jack then. Emerald do Very good, not fairly good management products, and K-Star isn't anything like Superchips. It works, does what it says, and isn't snake oil. And it is just about the only sensible electronic upgrade for old K-Jetronic mechanical injection.

Well as far as I know a k-star used to be used to piggy back the k-jet system to allow electronic mapping, which is what I thought a Superchip did but i've never bothered to look into them much since they have always been slagged so much.

I wrote the message at 3am, does it really matter how I describe the management? I've never used Emerald and they were just described as "good" here:

Stick it on a standard engine, 5th injector wired to a pressure switch, standard CR, 6psi

It'll be fine

Worked for me for a while lol

I don't think i'll pay more than £150-200 for it, what type of power did you get from it? And what is the point in wiring the 5th injector to a power switch? Did you have a gti or are you talking about one of your Renault turbo's?

By "while" do you mean it blew up lol!?

I don't know but the manifold probably wouldn't fit and neither would the throttle body, but I don't know what the differences are between 16v and 8v units.

Renault 19 1.8 16v. 10:1 CR. Garrett T25. Pressure switch fired the 5th injector at a set psi (unknown lol) Ran it for 3 months like that but switched to larger injectors and different management. Then switched to a new manifold and a T28.

Currently building a bored and stroked 1.8 with forged pistons. 2.0 8.5CR and a load of other goodies!

New spec here

Finally got him to post up some pic's of the kit.... it all looked great untill I saw the intercooler. The thing looks about the size of a friggin lunch box! Or is that a normal sized intercooler, because the examples I usually see are pretty large items on showcars.

I suppose it wouldnt be so bad if it was front mounted? I've emailed him for the dimensions and mounting point.
