Today has been a good day

This morning the freebie Ibiza passed it's MoT with flying colours. The SD1 should have had all it's welding finished today (there was a lot of it!). And I've just confirmed that tomorrow I will be picking the Chimaera up.

Happy days :D

A TVR and this weather. How big is the grin on your face...and was it one big sideways drift all the way from the pick up point back to home?

Neil.

Ha, I was very careful, but being down South we haven't got it too bad, just a few patches of ice. Luckily the Chim has a handy ice detector light so you know when it's cold and then (I assume) when it gets below freezing. Saying that, it's enough of a challenge to stay in a straight line when the roads are just damp.

Suffice to say the grin is MASSIVE!! I love it.

Niggles I've spotted so far - intermittant wipers dont work (knew this already), wiper blades need changing ASAP, immobilisor is a bit fiddly to turn off (knew this already) and I need to work out how the alarm works as it went off as soon as I turned it on when i got home. The manual seems to describe a different alarm altogther. This is annoying as you can only lock the car by arming the alarm (no keyholes to use). Seems to have settled down now though, and is safely tucked away in the garage. At the very least I need a second fob as a backup so need to find a Meta alarm specialist. Oh, and the speedo goes crazy at motorway speeds - reckon it's a dud connection or sensor issue, but I'll investigate that later when I can get the car on a ramp.

The main thing is that it goes bloody well, sounds great and I'm a very happy boy!

I'm now trying to extend the leads on my solar trickle charger so i can use it whilst the car is in the garage. Last thing I want is a flat battery as this is a bit of a PITA on the Chim.

Didn't have time to take any photos in daylight, but here's a little taster:
