Hmm. I remember the 2.0i-16 155 PS Citroen ZX but not the 167 PS. The Xsara had the 167 PS engine but with a five speed transmission, the claim being that the six speed 'box wouldn't fit.

Just found out that citroen made a zx with the 306 gti-6 lump anyone know if it came with the six speed box or not?
btw if anyones intersted it were between 96 and 98 for the 167 hp zx :)
althoguh could be tempted with a 200 brake V6 XM :)
as below
ZX
Engine Code KW(Din hp) rpm Tuned for Year RFS(XU10J4RS) 120(167) 6500 R-Cat 1996-98 RFTXU10J4D) 120(150) 6500 R-Cat 1993-97 RFYXU10J4/L-Z 112(152) 6500 R-Cat 1992-97
taken from Autodata 05
Hmmm, that make's no sense if you look at the numbers. I thought the ZX kept the same engine as the 405 Mi16, but, as Dervman said the Xsara inherited the 167bhp version in the VTS. Not entirely sure though.
Heres the Xsara gen
Engine Code KW(Din hp) rpm Tuned for Year RFS(XU10J4RS/L3) 120(167) 6500 R-Cat 1997-00 RFV(XU10J4R) 97 (135) 5500 R-Cat 1998-00
But how can 120kW = 167hp and 150hp! But yeah, could be correct! Whether you're actually notice the difference over the other versions is a different matter!
It can't
1998-00
its a typo no cut n paste facility in autodata

XM? Yes, do it :-) Fantastic car, great handling when you get used to it, loads of grip and a great ride. The whole car is just.. well, totally mad really..
Somehow I think a Xantia Activa turbo would suit you more though :-)
Mick
Pass then. It's possible that Autodata is wrong or that the 167 PS version wasn't released in the UK, unless these are all right hand drive models?
Yup, they did make one. It was right at the end of it's lifespan, about '96 iirc.
You'd break it in 5 minutes.
