Did anyone ever make a 32v version of the Rover V8?

why not just go the whole hog and put in the 4.6 version (or, if he's loaded, a TVR one :) )

The amount of re-engineering necessary was the reason it was simply discontinued. Also, manufacturing techniques have moved on in 40 years - it was essentially a low volume (in global terms) production engine.

One of the classic engine designs of all times.

The injection ones are far superior to the carb types, though.

Saw it on the back of a pret lit westfield V8 hillclimb car once.

The engine fitted in surprisingly well - not as much as a shoehorn job as you would think.

I wonder if anyone's ever put a 16v badge on a car with a V8 in? :-)

Surely that's almost always the case. Carbs are just a huge compromise :)

Depends what it's out of, some of the military versions had as little as

90hp....

You can get the power with four barrel downdraught carbs. But not the economy at the same time.

Georgie Best? Gazza?

It's a bit passe, in fact.

Lovely bark from the Rover, you'll never look back. Drinks like a Scottish football player especially compared to a diesel, which in a van is a more sensible choice.
