1967 Ford Mustang Fastback FOR SALE

I hate to part with her but it's time. For sale my 1967 Ford mustang Fastback. 289, auto, console, tons of new parts, dual plain aluminium inake, 600 cfm eldelbrock with electric choke, pertronix, new Nightmist blue paint June 2003, GT dual exaust, new coil, plug wires, fuel lines, voltage regulator, alternator. Runs strong, drive anywhere.

I was planning to sell her in the spring, so if I can't sell her by Thanksgiving she goes into storage and I'll sell her at auction in the spring.

The only major defect is in the new paint (started to bubble in one small spot. I can't get it fixed now so I'll drop $500 bucks off the price on my web site from $14k to 13500. She's fast, ultra reliable, and a great looker.

More like $9,000 tops right now....Especially with the bubbling of the paint so soon after it was done. Just what else is hidden under there................Should have left the stock steering wheel on, as the Grant unit looks pretty cheesy................Put it up on Ebay, make sure you give a 100% full accounting and disclosure..............

I understand, but I live in Chicago and the prices here are a bit higher for this model of car. Just trying to find any 67 or 68 fastback locally is hard enough. The classic car dealers can't keep them on the lot and private parties are asking A LOT more than I am.

Bill your a cool guy, I've read many of your posts. But I've got to tell you I take offense at your insinuation that I'm not being honest. I could just go to Macco and have them slap on some bondo, but I didn't. I also gave a full discription of every minor problem with the car on my web site. I'm an honest man.

You don't like my price? Fine, you don't have to. Don't like the condition of the car, that's fine to. Call me a liar or a cheat and I'll invite you to kiss my a**.

No hard feelings.

Never said you were dishonest, not at all, just posting my advice to you about placing the car on Ebay, and to give 100% full accounting and disclosure is common sense. The more information you give out, the less questions you have to answer via email. The more detailed pictures (use a flash, take close up shots of each panel, door jamb, etc) you place up, the better off you will be, and the better chance you have of actually finding a buyer for your car at anywhere near what your asking for the car...............I've been selling cars online for a long time now, just figured I would impart some of my personal wisdom and experience on you to help you out.....................With the issues with the paint, it's only a matter of time before more imperfections show up. My advice is what it is, so is my estimation of the value of your car based on what I have seen so far........I of course do not have a vested interest in whether you sell it or not, so my emotions do not get in the way of logical reasoning like yours has..............You really want to sell the car, your better be paying attention, otherwise, your going to be sitting on it for a LONG time............Which would you rather have, the car sitting unused, or real cash in your pocket??????Some people get it, others do not, which one are you??????

Funny, I just call it like I see it. Without the emotional attachment to certain items, I view it as a fresh look, and an objective opinion.......

PS: So, what about your contention that WMV format viruses don't exist, I noticed you scurried away in quite a hurry when your faulty logic exposed..................

People in chicago *ask* alot of money for old mustangs. I can only assume because there are alot fools around here who pay those prices. I certainly wouldn't.

I've seen and passed up alot of them. It doesn't make the car worth that much because it's in chicago. I've mustangs with serious frame rail rot that the owners wanted considerable sums for. Frick, I remember a guy asking near top price for '70 mach 1 small block. I go see the car and find out the engine has been rebuilt by the friends of the owner at the local auto parts store.... the owner blames the aftermarket cam for the fact that the engine shakes so much the shifter is moving back and forth a couple inches. The floor has been patched by someone who glued sheet metal down over the rust holes with tar....

Blah. Anyone who buys one of these overpriced chicago mustangs typical of what I've seen for asking price is a fool IMO. I did see a great '68 coupe once upon a time. It was brought in AZ, but the price was too high for what I could scrape together. (It was worth what he was asking for it though, and was less than some of the frame rusted cars I saw)

All I have to say is try shopping for a FASTBACK in the Chicago area. Scower every site, every paper, every classified ad and in a month maybe you'll fine ONE for sale at any price. Heck when I was shopping for one I was looking as far north as Milwaukee and as far south as Peoria. In five months I found 3, and a purchased the third one. I go to cruse nights in the summer hit three of them on a fairly regular basis. You know how many 67-68 fastbacks I saw besides mine this summer? 5. There are 8 million people in the Chicago Metro area. It's called supply and demand. The lower the supply relitive to demand causes an increase in price. That's why if you look at the value guides on line you have to enter your ZIP code. Location matters.

Sure you could go out on ehay and judge from pictures the condition of a 35 year old car and then pay for the shipping on top of that. Never knowing what your really getting until it arrives.

Is my price high? Maybe. Show me a cheaper one for sale (in similer condition) with in 100 miles of Chicago.

Bill, your emotional attachment to what you write is not the issue. You called into question the merit of my character. This can be done with out emotion yet still be insulting.

Guess my maverick is worth a million dollars by that formula. Know how many other mavericks I saw this summer besides mine? ZERO. You know how many mavericks I saw for sale before I bought the one I have now 9 years ago? 2. I bought the second one. And btw, when I was doing that shoping I came across at least 2 '67 fastbacks without even trying. Frick one incidental included a ram-air coded '69 mach 1. (had a 351C in though)

I don't buy cars on ebay for that reason. People don't put photos of what I want to see most of the time. Like I said, I've seen alot of people asking primo prices for mustangs that looked fine until I crawled under 'em.

Everyone thinks the car they got is some sort of rare gem.

My maverick needs some work, since I used it as a daily driver for years as did the previous owners and didn't have good storage for it when it became a secondary driver, but I haven't seen one in better condition in this area in years. Nor have I seen a better one for sale in the chicago area. (but I did hear of one, a less desirable bigbumpered one, never got a chance to go see it, but I need another car to work on atm like a hole in my head) The last maverick I saw was a decaying one in WI. Was a 6cylinder 4 lugged grabber though....

But none of this deludes me into thinking my maverick is going to fetch a premium if I were to sell it.

I'm Brent. Not Bill. His name has 4 letters, mine 5. The only one in common is B. I haven't called your character into question, merely stating that the chicago premium is paid by suckers who don't know any better if anyone. If you can find one all the power to ya.

Your logic if mighty faulty, I suggest you go to your local library and check out "Ecomimics for Dummies" and then get back to me.

Quick question...who the hell wants to drive a Maverick? How could you even compare a Maverick with a Fastback Mustang? Good lord, a Maverick is as about as desirable as the flu.

Here's some quick info that you most likely were to busy to look up. The NADA price guide has the AVERAGE VALUE of a 1967 Fastback valued at $13600, for the 60090 area code where I live. Your uninformed opinion of what a car is worth is really starting to seem quite worthless.

You found 2, 67 mustangs within a hundred miles of Chicago did ya? I noticed you omitted to state where on line you found them, where they were located, what price, and what conditions Seems like you "forgot to mention a lot of things... Guess who's character I questioning now? BTW, Who the hell is talking about Mach 1s any way? Take your Ritalin and focus will you?

I know who you are, your not the only one who is responding to this thread. That's why addressed the comment to Bill. Up the dosage on that Ritalin AND READ THE WHOLE THREAD. MAN, do people like you irritate me. You only write short uninformed off the cuff comments trying to fool your self and others into believing you know what your talking about.

For anyone actually interested in the car, here is a link to more pictures. They are HUGE, if your using dial up I would estimate 2 min per pic to download. Just click any link on the page to view.

For the record I'm in the market for a rust free maverick grabber... Doesn't need a drive train but does need everything else in tact... Sean
