1995 Mustang: Wipers Won't Turn Off! Any Ideas, Please?

Vehicle:

1995 Mustang Coupe, 3.8L 6-cyl, auto

Symptoms: Wipers run continuously as long as ignition switch is not turned off unless wiper fuse is removed. The wipers run at low speed if the switch is in the off position, the intermittent position or the low speed position. The wipers run at high speed if the switch is in the high speed position.

Other: Wiring looks good. Circuitry for intermittent operation is in the wiper switch.

Parts Replaced Since Symptoms Appeared: Wiper Switch Wiper Motor Ignition Switch

Please offer any suggestions you might have! I am baffled!

Thanks for your help!

Problem Solved: Intermittent function is in a wiper "governor" box that plugs into the underdash fuse block. That unin failed.

Since you replaced the switch and motor (assuming the replacement switch is 100%) it almost looks like you have a short in the wiring somewhere. Causing the wiper motor to always be 'on'. I suggest using a volt/multi meter at the wiper switch poles to see if there's voltage when there should not be. Making sure it is interrupting when it should. Start eliminating what is not the cause should make it easier to locate the problem by a process of elimination.
