255/50/16's on 87-93 stock wheel?

Anyone running this size tire on a stock size wheel (i.e. 16" X 7" pony wheels)? on an 87-93 with quad shocks still intact? I know 245/45's will work but want some more width.

Im only running 245/50's on my ponys. I dont think you can fit a 255 under there without taking out the quad shocks and moving the exhaust a bit. Mine is closer to the tailpipes then the quad shocks.

I am running Futura 255/50/16's on the back of my 89 GT. I still have quad shocks but I have turn downs.

I did have to roll the left fender lip though. Most of your rwd American cars have an offset rearend. Meaning it sets to the left of middle. This helps the car track better. That is why the left rear tire tends to be the one that rubs when you put large tires on.

I used a good old fashioned softball bat to roll my fender lip. Put it in between the tire and lip and lean down on the back of the car. Repeat process until you move down the entire lip area.
