89 Mustang GT- Worth it?

OK I have this 1989. Body is in pretty good shape. Car been sitting in garage for 2 years because the oil pump failed on the engine. It needs several things including a new engine, door work, new radiator and new brakes as a minimum. I have had the car since is was almost new (23K) and now it has about 168K on it. I like the car but I could buy a 93 or later as well. Is it worth fixing or not? How much is a new engine (preferably a Cobra type)? With installation?

Its up to what you feel like doing. With everything that needs to be done you'll probably end up spending $5-$6k EASY. You could buy a really nice 5.0 with that. But if you feel like building her back up, go for it. Just depends on personal preference I guess. If your lookin for the least expensive and most hassle free, id just get a new car and part the other one out or sell it as is.

installation?

If your going to pay to have it done then its probably not worth doing since the labor is going to be a pretty good chunk of change. If you were to do the work yourself then the project could be worth doing if you want to keep the car.
