Do you have any info/experience with Mode 6? I'll go into more detail if so. I have some questions.

Loading thread data ...

I've worked with the data a very few times.... we don't have air quality testing here, as yet - so a P1000 doesn't raise many eyebrows if there are no driveability concerns... If a monitor refuses to complete, mode 6 should point you to the why....

I don't think I'm any expert with mode 6 but I can certainly offer suggestions...

I'm not concerned with settings monitors so much... how about Ford misfire data (or lack of)? Aren't you a Ford tech?

Yes... I'm a Ford tech....

Now... at this point, you are asking about mode 6 data.... and asking me a lot of questions about me..... I think this is going backwards...

If you have a few specifics, now would be a good time to start...

A few things like year, model, engine.... unimportant crap... right? Depending, there is other misfire data available ...

But, at this point, I'm about done with games.... ask your questions or this thread will die...

Gee calm down there, Jim! Bad day? I'm curious about ford misfire data in general, say.... post 96. Or how about this- let's say, 2000 F150 5.4. Very minor, intermittent misfire. What's your attack plan?

"Striking up a conversation"???? Is that what this was about???

I'm dealing with a brand new FICM strategy for the 6.0.... preparing for an all new system with the 6.4 looming on the horizon.... dealing with the construction of a 7 bay addition to our shop..... looking for warm bodies to fill those bays....

Let's not fail to mention that I do have a life to live.... one of the reasons I come here is because, when I do sit down to rest, I do not watch television. Right now, I am sicker than the proverbial dog and I have to drive to Edmonton to pick up my wife from the hospital after gall bladder surgery because the medical system has let us down yet again.....

And now I have a chip on my shoulder because I didn't want or need to "strike up a conversation"? Your reception would have been much warmer had you simply stated your motives up front.... With that information, I might have even struck up some sort of dialog...

As for a chip on my shoulder, I doubt that I would have said if I thought I was anything special....

My God but some of you youngsters can be self centered...

Hey Jim,

Sorry to hear about your wife's surgery and your illness. My gf had her gall bladder taken out about ten years ago and it was one of the best things that had ever happened to her. I hope it goes as well for your wife.

There isn't a word in any of my posts that indicate that I am self centered. You weren't forced to reply to any of my posts, yet you went out of your way to be an asshole and get defensive over nothing. We all have things in life to deal with, yet some of us don't push it on other people. Once again, you are a complete asshole. I'll make it a point to never "bother" you again.

Since I'm probably as 'context oriented' as Jim, I have to differ with you on your centeredness... in fact, you responding to a scolding by calling the scolder an asshole is pretty ironic.

I dont have a clue what the specifics on mode 6 are, but as a former engineer/analyst/project leader I know the tone of the question first hand.

It WAS a generalist question and the context of it asked for a chapter in a manual.

sorry if you dont want to hear that, but that's the truth... whether you realized it or not.

Both Jim and I will go to lengths to help anyone out but you arent helping,... this IS a volunteer site, after all.

I'll throw my two cents in here too. I think the OP could have been more precise and quicker in getting to the point but Jim did take his head off rather abruptly. None of us are gurus sitting on a mountain dispensing knowledge with the right to be rude to whoever we choose. Sounds like Jim has some personal issues he is dealing with and if that affects his responses in a negative way then he should just refrain until he is in a better frame of mind. If I were Brian I would likely have responded in just the same way.

Thanks Michael, my posts weren't specific, because..... there really weren't any specific details. I even said "in general". If Jim feels that discussing something "in general" is absurd, then don't reply. At least you see my point.

Maybe I should make it clear to the others that I DID NOT force myself into Jim's home, hold a gun to his head, and say, "Jim, I'm here to waste your free time. Teach me, in detail, everthing about Ford misfires!". I simply posted on a newsgroup.

Thanks again Michael!
