Have a blown 393" 86 Mustang. Has 750CC or 72 lb/hr injectors like these:

Mine are really not that number, they're marked 3145, and 3-184-80897. Can't find anything on them. My problem is: It's not happy at idle. Electromotive, they built the control, is telling me the injectors are too large to accurately meter at idle. They have to be large to support the HP at wide open throttle. Electromotive's system is a "grouped" system. Fires two injectors every time around, one on the cylinder that's on the intake stroke, and one on the cylinder that will be there on the next turn. So I get two injector "squirts" for each complete cycle. So, it has four injector drivers and four sets of two injectors. Hope that makes sense.

What I'm trying to do is determine if this thing should idle and something is wrong or if I'm beating a dead horse:) One of my problems is it fouls the plugs quick when not loaded. And of course once it does the engine dies and will not re-start without cleaning or changing the plugs. Put very hot plugs in it, mixed in about 50% E85, lowered the minimum injector pulse to 1 ms and set the idle spark advance way up. It's still not happy. If I could get it to idle I could check the individual plugs to see if one or two injectors are dribbling or something but it fouls them all. The Electromotive control is very easy to deal with but they are telling me if the injector pulse is too short the injectors will not accurately meter fuel.

Is there anywhere injector specs are listed with some hint of min and max injector "on" times? I need to get past this before I run over someone. Driving this car is like playing Russian Roulette, it about dies and then takes off like a race car. Have to drive it with one foot on the brakes and one keeping the RPM up.

Yeah, that's not your run of the mill set-up. Too large injectors? Smaller injectors and higher fuel pressure? On my weak little 4.6 with

10lbs of boost I use colder plugs/smaller gap to help prevent spark blow out. I don't know, that sounds like a wild ride there.

Have you ever been on the corral.net Al? There are some real sharp racers on there.

with 10" slicks and 3.80 gears. I have some pictures if you have a place I can post them... Have you or anyone you know made a flow bench to test electronic injectors?
