Emergency (coolant issue again)

Ok... I've replaced the thermostat & o-ring seal. Apparently there are no other gaskets on top. I just started the car & looked for leaks. Yes, it's still spurting like a mfer out of the top of the thermostat housing thing... but I also noticed it's spurting out of the bottom of it too. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Check for cracks. I once put a thermostat in upside down and tightened the housing. The housing cracked and had to be replaced.

Damn you, Yen. It's a crack. A decent sized one. What is this part called? (It's black... and is part of where the fuel injectors are (i think). It's not the silver aluminum/metal part. Any idea what it's called & an approximate cost? Thanks =).

Um just so you know, the '96 and '97 GT's had a technical service bulletin on the intake manifold (the plastice black thing) and Ford will replace the part free of charge for I think 7 years. They replaced mine TWICE, as it broke both times right in the area that you are describing.

Good luck -

Question: Do TSB's have any limitations on them as far as the time you have to get them done? There is one (96-12-25) that has to do with replacing the cooling system higher capacity parts (radiator, a/c condesor, etc.) that would solve my problem of the engine running hot in this hot SW Florida weather....
