Fixing a nicked bumper?

So we bought an awesome 2000 Mustang convertible last week. It is pristine in EVERY regard (see it at

), except for a littlenick in the rear bumper that has gone through the paint. The black under-layer is kind of protruding through the surface of the paint, in a spot no bigger than a nail head. I think I'd have to trim that protrusion away, which would leave a kind of divot, and fill it with something before touch-up painting.

Question is: What do you fill it with? I read in another thread that someone used Plastic-Kote (the stuff you dip pliers handles in) for this, and then painted over THAT. It sound durable, but...

Any ideas? Would that work?

3M makes a filler for bumper covers. With careful sanding and I had to use brush touch up for the lack of spray in my car's color I was able to get good results with alot of careful wetsanding. The damage was about the size of a nickel on the rear bumper.

Not sure what to fill the bumper with but make sure that when the bumper is repainted that a flex agent is added to the paint or the paint will crack and flake off due to the flexing of the bumper.
