FS: IST Electric fan for 87-93 Mustang

For sale is one IST hi-flow electric fan. $125 shipped (firm) in the US. The fan kit retails for $190 from Texas Mustang. This fan flows 2800 CFM at 20 amps. Requires 130 amp alternator.

This is a nice fan for those who don't want to build their own. This fan kit was put together by Monte Smith (Blown88GT on the Corral). You can see his Mark VIII fan website here:

Here are his comments about the fan: Interactive Systems & Technologies (IST) electric fan - this is a nice fan since it mounts in the factory shroud and uses a temperature switch which mounts in the thermostat housing. There is a standard flow unit and a hi-flow unit; both units use the same 16" fan, but the hi-flow unit spins faster. The hi-flow unit requires the 3G, 130A alternator.

This fan is ready to drop in. All the wiring and relays are on the inside of the fan shroud. One small wiring harness with 4 wires runs out of the fan. Replace the fan shroud, hook up 4 wires, replace the thermostat housing and you are done! It took me 90 minutes from start to finish to get this fan installed. It really works great but it is louder than the Mark VIII. You can definitely tell when it kicks on. My car ran right at 180 degrees with this fan in the Alabama heat and right at 200 with the A/C on.
