That is a beautiful machine. If a new model was released like that, with a modern powerplant and suspension, I would be the first one at the dealer's door.

Oh yeah.............
I remember one that was the cover car on either Hot Rod or Car Craft magazine in 1981 that was a Purple & Black 1970 AAR 'Cuda with the 340/Six Pack that was ultra hot. They called the car (and the color) Plum Crazy.
That was the year I sold the 70 Plymouth Duster and ordered a brand-new Black T-Topped 2.3L/5-Speed 'Stang for a whopping $8,033.

I'm afraid I would have taken the 'Cuda instead of the Stang that time Spike.

Funny how the memory works aye! I remember my first spotting of a purple Cuda. It was about 1974 I was running up from my home town to Klamath Falls in my 69 Camaro. This Cuda came along. We ran together all the way up. Stopped at a campground somewhere along the way and partied, it was a blast. I spent the weekend partying with them and stayed friends with them for quite awhile after. We would all get together for a weekend and party for a wekend.
Damn I wish I was young again!

"Originally 1 of 12 318 4 speed Gran Coupe convertibles." That dang Hemi name, you hang it on any old restomod and you're into six figures?
Kid down the sreet from me, a couple years back -- just as the Mopar run-up was about to take off -- bought a '71 Challenger vert for approx $6K. A slant six car, and if that's not a weird combo, a slant six vert, I don't know. Anyway, he found it on Craigslist and by weird coincidence it was the very car I'd been watching molder on the street nearby for 10 years or more.
A little later he finds, again on Craigslist, some yahoos parting out a wrecked 440-6 bbl Cuda (only Dodge called them "Six Paks"), and the kid picks up the engine, K-frame, 727 Torqueflite, and Dana 60 for approx $1,500. So now this kid has bought a six figure car, theoretically, for less than 10K. I keep telling him to bring it on down, I'll donate the garage space, and we'll get it together. I can see it now, Plum Crazy with white top, seats, and R/T stripes. But the kid has NOOO money.
So next thing the kid does is finds another car on Craigslist, this time a '68 440 Charger R/T, "all there," for approx $8,000. Both cars are drivers but both need a LOT of tlc.
I don't suppose this story has a point, cept maybe that you're right, they're out there, under the kudzu or on craigslist.

Disagree. Of all the cars that are discussed in this forum (the second word of which is "autos"), this one is pretty close to home.
