Is it good ?

Any one heard of the power elbow ? It looks like a lower intake from a carb with a 90 degree elbow pipe to mate it to the TB. I like it becuase it looks very clean. Real small upper. I have a 86 GT T-Top with a AOD. Any one use one ? What rpm range is it good for ? Thanx

Yes, that's what it's for. Many aftermarket companies are modifying single plane manifolds for port EFI. Then you need to add a 2 or 4 barrel throttle body. This makes an excellent EFI system for an all out performance car. The purpose of the "Power Elbow" is to turn the throttle body mounting pad 90 degrees so you can use a stock Ford type throttle body. To be honest, I can't really see why you would want to do that. If you're going for all out performance, then use one of the available

1,000 cfm throttle bodies - or two of them for that matter. A system like that needs a pretty expensive computer, like around $2,000. If you want a good street EFI, use the Ford system; it's a whole lot cheaper. The stock A9L computer is pretty flexible and dirt cheap.

Hmmmm That means you could stick a Ford EECIV EFI on a Chebby 350...

Interesting project for giggles...

But what it REALLY means is there's a cheap effective/efficient EFI for ANY engine.

Sure is... just like Bosch intended.. SOME good things do come out of Germany..

One guy said a few years ago when I suggested this.."Well how would you handle the TFI..?"

Well duh... use a remote to whatever late model dist/pickup the native block uses.

The Throttle body takes care of the other two difficult parts. Unless designing the injector placement in the intake is considered tough.. I wouldnt think so.

I read Probst's book... I agree.

Could be done easily if you had wiring diagrams I suppose.

Drill a hole, weld in a bung. Seems pretty easy to me too, if I knew how to weld. I leave that to those competent in that area.
