Need Opinion QUICK!! Re: 95 GT

Hi all, as some of you may or may not have noticed I have posted several questions regarding my 95 GT's starting problem. Well I took it to a local repair shop and they say it Needs a "cold start sensor"? What the hell is that and where is it??????

Never heard of it, and they haven't either. Run like hell and don't look back, even if they offer to throw in a complimentary set of muffler bearings or a quart of blinker fluid.

That is odd. I have a cold start sensor on my car. Sits in the top of the lower intake. Mine is bad...car idle's all jacked up when it is plugged in. If I unplug it, cars only idles bad for a moment and the then clears up. Mind you, this is when it is from a cold start.

Ehhh, like Jim said, a CCS is exclusive to GM vehicles with throttlebody injection AFAIK. Now I could be a little off on that but I do know a 5.0 Mustang does not have one. What you SHOULD do if phone a REPUTABLE dealer and talk to a service manager and a parts guy, confirm that and then call and ask the manager of that shop WTF his flunky is trying to sell you a part that does not exist. Then tell him you work for Prestone and want to know if he will test market your new line of synthetic blinker fluid.

Show me a Ford with a cold start sensor, and I'll show you a rebadged Chebby.

No I couldn't run. I'd have to milk this for all it was worth. Ask for a part number a chit. Maybe have him point out the CSS to me, then see if he could find it on a schematic.
