Odd gas prices (no rhyme, no reason?) Toronto

So, oil shoots to $69 barrel, prices of gas hit $1.27/L. Then, oil falls to $57 barrel, prices of gas drop to $0.83/L. So far, so good. That was over a few months.. Recently, the price (with oil going from $57 to $60/b) went up to $0.99/L. Now, oil has hit $64/b and gasoline is down to $0.93/L. Graph this and it looks pretty odd. We're better off by far than when it was $1.27/L during the last phony "scare" but prices have not yet settled down.

As was pointed out here on a news feed... After Katrina, gas went through the roof, but it cam e back down a ways, especially when there were questions of gauging and government investigations. But, the government involvement was short lived, and as soon as the heat was off, the prices began to rise, even though there was more available and the per barrel price had dropped. Now the barrel price rises and the pump prices are going up as well... coincidence? or X Files?

It's probably because of all the oil they use to make plastic camera bodies.
