OT:Corral

Ha! There's a thread going on the Corral.net right now discussing the old RAMFM I think everyone should go crash their party :-) Those pretty web pages.

Uh huh... go crash the party, and start a BS flaming/trolling war.

Now THAT's good advice.

Is That what I said?

In my younger days...

The Corral always reminded me of a gated community (a parallel I was fond of using for AOL). It's "moderated", it's all nice and friendly, and BORING. Those gates work both ways.

So here we have a gated community, all safe and snug from the hard realities of usenet, and they're fondly reminiscing about the "good old days" at RAMFM. Funny, actually...

Gotchur back, babe!

Like I'm gonna go on there and reminisce about "the old days" of late nineties...

Since i date from Fordnatics and the mail list in early nineties, I dont think so.

Trouble is I used a couple vanilla-type names (not at same time, consecutively) and I dont remember what they were. -Something like "SVOJim" ;)

TG I was given this one by some troll, it's EASY to remember.

And all due respect, I got the message before my year's contract was up and got the he11 off AOL and back to the REAL internet.

I checked it out and replied. I know people here and there and like both places. I still like the RAMFM better. I never bought any Corral stickers ;) Erik D. '94 white lightning '01 white GT

Hey people. As mentioned above I was just digging through old stuff from when i was still learning about these cars. Was then and still am today a bit computer illiterate on a lot of things. On AOL using USENET there was no search feature and one could only read back I believe it was 90 days a few years back and recently only 14 days. I never used IE back then so I didn't know how to get on here that way. I am on the Corral a lot more because MAINLY because the info is sorted (the way I personally like it) and I don't have to dig around varying search terms for results as much as I do using google for this group. It's just a personal preference. I mentioned on here once that I got tired of the spamming and arguing in tech threads. If and when bad info is given it can be deleted. Not sit needlessly in the database for the rest of eternity. Anyhow, nice to see a bunch of familiar names. I'm still around, but obviously not as much.

Entertaining? Well, if you like watching people run across a bed of hot coals with bare feet doused in lighter fluid then yeah, that could be entertaining.

That certainly beats prime time TV.

I like to think of it as watching someone take a bath in a tub full of gasoline while practicing fire blowing.

Prime time, "Reality" in particular, is to blame for me hooking the TV just to the DVD. Been a year and a half since I've seen network programming.

It takes a real asshole to get involved in flame wars, for sure.

Kind of hard to pck one that sticks isn't it? Or at least one that you like that sticks! LOL

The only time I have ever used AOL was when it was on someone else's computer, and then I would try to convince them to switch.
