Oh yeah, still around, just not posting much these days. After posting the strut tower mod on the site, I was flooded with some pretty vile Email from CC plate owners who took offense, so I made it all go away with a few keystrokes. I haven't seen anyone mirror the site, so it probably wasn't that big a loss to Mankind.

:)

A few other big changes around here keep me otherwise occupied. I'll tell ya about it someday soon.

I'd have left it up just to piss off the m'fers, but then again I don't know what kinda gun you had put to your head. The loss of the web page was a loss to the whole auto community.he 's some positive thoughts coming your way.

Dave.

Let me think on that for a bit. I may put it back up, now that I'm using NS

7.xx, which filters out Email crap pretty well. Bought a very expensive ($125.00 - yikes!) used IBM 1-ghz. P-III Netvista server to run it on as well.

There was a time when pissing people off would have yielded tremendous enjoyment, but things have changed for me this year, and I am a much happier person because of it. I don't want to make people angry here: I just want to chat about the care and feeding of Ford Mustangs, that's all.

The state of my political consciousness has not changed either: I am still the same feisty moderate conservative that most have come to know, and I am also still a registered Republican, which is a curious thing here in the state of California, guns or no guns.

I'll think on that website thing for a while, not to worry.

Ahhh, well since I don't have the whole story, let me just say I am glad to see that you aren't the victim of some California Commuter :)

Why not host your own? Used servers are not that much. Big fortune 500 companies who upgrade sell them to refurb houses. As with their desktops. They can be had for under $200 at eg

I just ordered two Dell OptiPlex GX150's (800MHZ Pentium III, 256MB, 20GB, CD) for $149 each. OK, it's just the CPU bo but hey. One's for the wife to upgrade her 200Mhz AMd so she can surf a bit better. The other I'm gonna use for my server/gateway/router. Upgrading it from the 133MHZ,

64MB box it now is. They have true servers as well, priced quite reasonably. $30K HP's now for like $300 and still very useful...

Stay away from the IBM's and HP Vectra's on there. I've janked a bunch of those because they were acting up. I doubt they made it to retrobox but it's an indication of possible problems with them. Also do your research on Google before you buy. Some of these boxes may look good but use expensive (eg Dual ported) memory types. Like $170 for a 256MB stick. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying a cheapy one. :-)
