Radiator to a -67

Hi! I´m very thankful forthe help I get here. Have a other question. ( sorry for bad english)

The radiator is leaking and I look for a new one with better cooling. It´s a 289 engine and the "small" radiator. Better to buy a radiator to a bigblock or is the smaller one enough? The new i alu is better then the old ones anyway?

The fan, switch to a aftermarket or a electric?

Greetings Pelle

I would install the same radiator but with more rows. If you have a 2 row radiator (common) install one with 3 rows. Easy to look at the radiator and see how many rows of cooling tubes it has.

The big block radiator will not match up. The inlet and outlet are in the wrong places.

Electric fans - not good in my opinion. To really be effective, they should have a shroud and large CFM ratings. Most do not. The stock Ford flex fan moves over 3,000 CFM at idle. It's hard to find any electric setup that will match that.

Many have reported success by using a late model Ford fan setup from a Taurus. That may not be an option in your country.

I would upgrade the radiator to one more row than at present. It should be enough.

as long as you have a 3 or 4 core,and a shroud,you should be o.k. If still hot,check thermostat.

You can also increase the number of blades,in the fan.
