Christmas is a magical time ... ya gotta love all the kiddies with new computers. Let's share their joy and wonder as they discover themselves through the very clever wannabe troll posts over the next few weeks.

Lets hope they don't discover alt.flame. Poor innocents, they will be devoured.

hmmmm... ok little trollboy... let's read the headlines again for your benefit because clearly you can't read...

Ford has stated they are not looking for a handout, they might want some lines of credit... but it's GM and Chrysler that are in real trouble.

And why? Just look at the long lines of tasteless crap that flow out of their dealerships. 17 different flavors of the same crap with different badges, hideous things like the Escalade pickup, Buick Rendezvous [Tiger Woods only drives this when his Ferraris don't want to get wet] Pontiac Aztek [could someone please start picking these things up and sending them to the crushers - what an embarrassing design, a long-dead model only to be furthered by the ugliness of the Rendezvous]...

Ford on the other hand continues to breathe life into marques like the Mustang and does it properly - making the car appeal to such a wide audience, it continues to crush so many GM models with its astounding sales, sales figures the likes of which Camaro and Firebird will never achieve.

Ford reintroduced the classic styling of the Mustang with the current model style and ANYONE can buy it with ANY options they want, all the way up to REAL SHELBY MUSTANGS. Dodge's Charger and GM's Camaro are niche cars that will sell barely 1/10th what Ford will with the Mustang. Stupidity that is now biting them in the ass.

Best thing to have happen - GM cuts itself in half, keeps good models like the Corvette, Saturn dies off [anything Saturn built before 2006 is completely and utterly disposal - complete trash], and Chrysler dies the death it should have died back in 1980.

And, people, stop buying shit like Hyundai and Kia. My god, Hyundai can't design a car to save their lives... a few years ago they were ripping of Jaguar's designs, now it's Mercedes... get some designers who

All the Automakers are in trouble, the reason that Ford is in better shape than it rivals is because they have a more efficient business model. Every different model of car they sell has its own niche. If the recession continues then they will be in trouble too. The danger for Ford is unlike GM they have no place to cut, if they were to cut a model line it will cost them in market share. Right about now I bet the Ford execs are kicking themselves in the ass for selling off their aerospace division. I personally believe that the first car maker to introduce a practical alternate fuel vehicle will be the one with the best chance of surviving. (I'm in the CNG camp myself as that could be accomplished quickly and inexpensively.)

In part, but they also had gotten larger lines of credit back in 2006 when banks were giving money away. This led to them having more cash on hand then the other two. They had also raised a fairly good pile of cash reserves by selling off all the smaller auto makers it had previously bought up.
