Hi group

I have been running 200x60x15 snow tires in the winter and now they are worn out but I see the 200 size is no longer available. Does anyone know a good size for the winter for these

15 inch rims (15x7). Normal summer tires are 225x60x15.

Thanks Fred

195x65 is pretty close to 200x60, but if your speedo was calibrated for 225x60 you'll certainly have some error when you switch to snows.

To calculate the error, use this formula for your snows and your funs:

tire diam. = rim diam. + (width * aspect ratio / 1270)

{1270 is a combo conversion factor; works like this:

TD = RD + 2*SideWall height (there are 2 sidewalls, top & bottom)

SideWall height = width * aspect ratio, but W is quoted in mm,s so must be converted to inches, and aspect ratio is %, so must be converted to a fraction; hence:

TD = RD + 2*(width/25.4 * aspect/100); 100*25.4/2 = 1270}

{I got that formula from this NG, and now I'm giving it back.}

Tire height's nice to know to start but in relative terms all that matters is the nominal sidewall height

225 * .60 = 135 ...... 195 * .65 = 127 .. 195 * 70 = 136.5

BTW 200 (bet that was really 205) * .60 = 120 (123)... If the store wont mount 195 on the 7 inch rims, you're stuck with 215 60

215 * .65 = 139.75 height
