Im getting ready to install the transgo kit in my 95 with an aode trans. transgo recommends buying the steel 2nd and 3rd accumulator and not use the aluminum versions. Question is where do i get these as my ford dealer here wont order the parts for me and the 2nd question is has anybody installed this kit and can give me some tips as to what is good and not good to do. if i want a firm shift should i use the 3 washers?? What has made you decide on going with the Transgo? Any particular reason? I would suggest going with a Baumann shift kit. Allows you to select from 3 different firmness levels for each shift, unlike the transgo where it is 1 level for all the shifts, allows you to raise shift points from 100rpms to 1500rpms above stock, and you dont need any other parts for it to work. It is also alot easier to install then the transgo and cheaper. from

or most ford dealers carry them also.

One thing I would want to know before diving into this is exactly why? Also, what is the difference between the two.

My Trans-Go kit had three settings.

For one you'll want to do it all. You don't pick and choose what parts to install. As for what level to set it at don't use the highest setting without a stall converter. A friend of mine installed his with the firmest setting and a stock converter, and it was way to hard. While it was fun to drive it tore up the tranny down the road.

The reason they tell you to change the accumulators is the original aluminum ones have been known to gall up the bore they rid in an then either bind up or have leak by. If you dealer won't get them find another dealer.

I've been running a Transgo HD2 shift kit for 3 years without any problems. Shift is firm and quick.
