wheel bearings

I've replaced the front wheel bearings in my 93 LX a couple of times ( 218K daily driver) but this time the driver side won't stop squeaking except when I brake. What causes the squeak? I had new races pressed in and hand packed the bearings. Any ideas?. thx

If the spindle isnt galled or scarred from the inner race turning on it, then the problem is not your bearings... most likely brake pad squeak

Disc brake squeak is usually caused by one of the pads vibrating in the caliper - usually an outside pad. It stops when you brake because the pressure controls the vibration. Pull off the pads, and clean the mounting surface well. Apply Permatex Disc Brake Quiet, and reassemble. Let it sit overnight, and the squeal will most likely be gone.
