SVTKate was saying the amps for her Mach 460 in her Cobra were under her backseat if I recall correctly. You had to remove the seat to get at the amps.

Not positive on this...

According to the service manual, the amps for the Shaker 500 subwoofers are located in the doors with the speakers.

Let's see... Here's a thread on this subject that includes a pinout.

Good luck with this. I know there are quite a few people working on enabling AUX input but I haven't heard of anyone actually succeeding as of yet.

The same as most other high end "factory installed" sound systems. Chrysler used to have an individual amplifier mounted on each individual speaker in the Infinity systems. STUPID!!! Dunno if they still do that. I think the old Ford JBL system did the same. Just another thing you HAVE to go to the dealer for. That's why they do it that way. The dinky 5.25" door speakers used by Chrysler were like $130/piece!!

I doubt there is an AUX input or output unless you get an adapter which is probably an aftermarket piece.

it IS an aftermarket adaptor, except no one has one.

Hey Omar, Assistant Soap Tech,

A spell checker would at least make you look only half as stupid as you are...... the other half is just genetic, too bad for you.... keep washing those cars and maybe your boss will promote you to the tire change bay !

|I swear, ford is just out to piss me off lately.. One more for you Zig, is |there a way to wire in an RCA output to hook up some additional amps for |subwoofers without pigtailing off the rear channel speakers?

None of the wiring diagrams I've seen indicate a RCA level output. :(

Have you seen any outputs that can be spliced to an aftermarket amp?

I know >

I notice that there is a misspelling here.

'hurc ast' is really 'hurt ass'; probably what he feels after taking it up the rear....

Just for clarities sake, there is no such thing as RCA level. There is high (amplified) and low (line) level. RCA is the style of plug usually associated with line level (low) input/output. You can run high level through an RCA plug also. Just look at the plugs on a set of old tower speakers on the back of an old console stereo (think Samsung or Panasonic). RCA all the way.

Youre right.. I need to figure out where I can wire in a high to low converter so i can run RCA to the line inputs on my amps.

Most amps also have high inputs without converting. Though the sound isn't as good.

Yes, but where oh where can i splice in?

The amps are hidden inside my door panels, and I keep reading that the HU has some fugly molex thing going on thats impossible to tap into.

So how do I splice in some more sub goodness without swapping out the HU?

Use wire taps somewhere in the harness.
