Any differences in the 351 castings between C9 and D9?
IIRC the 69 would be a 9.480 deck height while the 79 would be a 9.503. I also belive that will make about 3/4 of a point differance in compression with the same parts.

Cool, thanks.
Anybody else know any differences??
The older blocks use a larger head bolt than the later blocks. Seems like the '69 used a 1/2" bolt, while the 302's used a smaller
7/16" bolt . Some time later (72? 73?), the 351W's were built with the smaller 7/16" head bolts - same as the 302's - to save money. This is important with head application. Some heads (edelbrock) are drilled for the 1/2" bolts. To use the 7/16" bolt, you need to use a special head bolt washer with a step in it.MotorsForum website is not affiliated with any of the manufacturers or service providers discussed here.
