I suspect if you replace the speedometer head (the most likely required remedy) the condition causing the error will be addressed. The sensor & wiring is ok if the spedo works) your issue will go away. The speedometer & odometer are an integral unit.

There is a wire that goes from the speedometer head to the ECU. If the ECU receives an inappropriate signal from the speedometer unit there will be an error reported by the ECU.

If after replacing the speedometer head you still have the error (I suspect not) then continue trouble shooting. Next possibility if the error persists is continuity issues with the circuit from the speedometer head to the ECU.

It's much cheaper to check for and repair any continuity issues before replacing the speedo head.

Faults in Nissan speedo and tacho heads are reportedly often due to dry solder joints - it's a hot environment under a dash board in the sun, 50 degrees C is not uncommon. If you have a 17w soldering iron with 1mm tip and know how to use it, inspect it and re-solder any joint that appears dry. It's most unlikely a professional car mechanic can do this unless they do hobby electronics (1 in 1000?). You may be able to find an auto electrician or possibly a TV or game box repair shop that would look at it but it's better to just replace it if you have to pay someone to work on it.
