99.5 Pathpuppy Rear Window Wiper Problem

Howdy All,

I'm experiencing a problem with my 99.5 Pathfinder rear window wiper. It works fine in continuous mode, but often hangs at different places on the rear glass when in intermittent mode. However, and here's the twist, the problematic behavior is only present in very wet and cold weather. I understand there are three electrical parts involved, the control switch on wiper control arm, the amplifier located behind the passenger-side, rear trim panel and finally the rear wiper motor itself.

I'm not much of an electrical system trouble shooter, so my question is should I have an automotive electrical shop have a test at it? I ask because I'm wondering if they might only be able to successfully trouble shoot the problem when the weather conditions are present as described above. I'm thinking the amplifier is probably the culprit, but is that a reasonable assumption?

I would appreciate any feedback, especially from those that have encountered the same problem.

Thanks in advance,

Wardo.

Owned a 99.5 once with the same problem. Never did get it fixed. It worked good enough to wipe the window while backing. But most of the time I'm looking forward or rear view outsiders so it wasn't worth the hassle.

Isn't that how most of the problems are with the PF. So many damn small things break you just don't bother fixing them all. Same problem here.
