Hi, the handbrake on my 2001 almera 1.5 is working ok but it clicks 5 or 6 times before it holds the car. On cars i've had before its usually set to around 3 or 4 clicks. Trouble is i can't find out how to adjust it. Any info much appreciated.
The procedure for auto-adjust is to back up the car at a moderate pace, then use just the hand brake to stop the car. Do it a couple of times. If this does not help, the auto-adjust may need its own adjusting!
Tried this but its no different - still 6 clicks. Suppose its at the end of its auto adjustment, but the brake shoes have plenty of lining left.
