Altima headlight etc

2002 Altima, front headlight burned out, no big deal right? Well, no one but the dealer has it (car is over 36000 miles, no warranty) and at $70 an hour, it's going to be almost $100 to change a bulb in a headlight? I could buy the headlight for $9 but I've been going to garages in the area and no one knows how to change the bulb. According to the dealer, "you pretty much have to take the front bumper off."

One thing I thought of was that I might as well have both lights changed, as long as they're doing one.

Why is this car so hard to get parts for? It was a nightmare finding wiper blades, tires had to be special ordered, $100 to change a headlight bulb? I like the car, but I only spent $20k on it. It shouldn't be this difficult and expensive to maintain.

and about tyres, I know they are odd sized, but it's not only Nissan but more than one manufacturers that choose that size, and as you keep driving it I expect you will see more tyres with that size.

and wiper blades, I am very positive they are available aftermarket, like Anco Aerodynamic, or Trico (Nissan supplier).

I think it's about buying cars not too many on the roads, whenever you need parts, dealer is the only source; but I know it's not real true. I was even able to find the aftermarket in cabin microfilter at half price. Just look around.
