Bleeding ABS on '97 Truck

A friend just purchased a '97 Nissan truck with, according to him, rear ABS. It looks to me like it might be a proportioning valve. There's some sort of gismo mounted on the frame near the rear end that has a heavy spring connecting it to the differential.

Any idea wht this is? Does the standard procedure for bleeding brakes apply or is there a special procedure apply to flush this device?

Many trucks have a proportioning valve that is adjusted by the rear ride hight which would normally equal the weight in the bed. There should be no special bleeding needed.
