Quest Sirius Radio

I recently purchased a 2004 Quest with the nav and 6 disc CD.

There is an option for late avail (not yet) Sirius, and a note stating it can't be retrofit when it does arrive.

Has anyone added a sirius tuner from a third party, and is there a way to integrate with the stock radio (without an FM mod). There is a sat button on the radio, but clicking it reads "no sat" since there is no tuner. Can I just add a sirius tuner, or would that not work (some sort of proprietory Nissan thing)

Any help appreciated.

Thanks Paul

You have the essential piece of equipment, which is the stereo with the satellite button. Now you need a tuner and an antenna. Sirius is giving away the tuners, just go to sirius.com or to a local best buy. You will probably get the entire thing done much cheaper than the dealer. The only negative thing i can think of is that the dealer's antenna might be more customized to the quest.

Do a google search for "grubbs" which is an infinity / nissan dealer in Texas. They may have an XM or Sirrus tuner kit for your car. It would be an OEM unit. I just ordered one for my Murano. The tuner was made available for an infinity car, but it was found to work perfectly for the Murano, which means it works with the head unit in the dask, and responds to the "Sat" button(controlled by the buttons on the steering wheel etc). Grubbs has several kits available, and perhaps one for your car. You can have a local dealer or teenager install the tuner for you.
