Question...Can I just replace the battery in my keychain remote and have it work??

I have a 1997 Pathfinder and 1996 Maxima..both remotes are starting to not work all the time. I think I just need a battery. Can I replace the batteries without having to reconfigure anything?? Or is it more involved than that? What kind of batteries to they take? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just put new batteries in them. Replacing the batteries in the remotes does not require reprogramming anything. They use big watch batteries. Best bet to get the right ones is to remove the old batteries and match the numbers you find on the batteries. Radio Shack is a good source for new ones.

Battery type has been on the back of the two Nissan remotes I have had.

Open the remote sender. Inside there is a lithium battery that is very standard. It should be available at most electronic parts suppliers, or most any Radio Shack.

If you don't mind paying about about five to six bucks more than the battery cost, most any Nissan dealer should be able to change it for you.

I have some older Nissan cars, and have changed the battery myself.
